Jacqueline Fernandez was born in Manama and raised by a mixed-ethnic, multiracial family. Her father Elroy Fernandez comes of Sri Lanka (Sinhalese - Catholic)and her mother Kim is a Malaysian. She is the younger of two siblings and has a brother who is older. She was raised and born in Bahrain. The family of her parents been to the country in the 1980s because of civil unrest that occurred in Sri Lanka. Following her education in Bahrain and after that, she received the Scholarship to pursue a degree at the University of Sydney, where she pursued a diploma in Media and Communications in Sydney, Australia. She went to an institute called the Berlitz School of Foreign Languages, which helped her improve on French, Arabic and Spanish. Miss Sri Lanka 2006 competed in Miss Universe 2006 as well as Miss Universe 2006 when she took home the title in 2006. Following her win of the Miss Sri Lanka title in 2006, she stepped into the world of TV and anchored a show on Sri Lanka's business known as Lanka Business Report. Padukone was the daughter of the badminton player Prakash Padukone, was born in Copenhagen and raised in Bangalore. In her teens she competed in badminton championships at national and international levels. But, she resigned from the game to make a profession as a designer. Padukone is a native of Mangalore in India. Her native language Konkani is her mother tongue. Padukone is a village located situated in Kundapura Taluk located in Udupi in Karnataka State of India, is where her ancestry originates. Prakash Padukone's father is an international badminton player who now retired. Her mother is a travel agent.
